Barkers’ Educational Resources

Curated collection of educational resources for beekeepers
This is a collection of educational resources for beekeepers put together by Jake “Beeman” Barker.
The lists are sorted by Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. They each have content that beeks can read or watch and use to improve their management practices, or gain a greater understanding of the honey bee itself.
There is a fourth list that includes books on subjects more peripheral to beekeeping, such as flowers, beekeeping lifestyles, and beekeeping economics.
Some items are difficult to appropriately place, in particular universities/professors/personalities. It is at best an estimate of the type of presentations I usually see from those presenters, and how often I feel they are approachable to that experience group. All of the presenters are themselves advanced or expert beekeepers.
These recommendations are not necessarily all Jake’s. This list is a joint effort, and we appreciate other beekeepers’ inputs on this list. Thanks to: Benham, Chesak, Ledford, and Martin.
A few of these resources Jake feels particularly strong about, and he recommends them highly. He has noted those with **asterisks**.
These lists are ultimately incomplete, and likely reflect some regionality, as all of the above beekeepers operate in Kentucky! There are many good works and presenters out there that escape us. The list will be updated periodically.
