We have an exciting morning planned at Don Chesak’s apiary! He and his wife have created an amazing sanctuary for both wildlife and bees! Don is the Batman of beekeeping and has many creative, hand-built tools for both himself as a beekeeper and his bees! He stresses the importance of deterring beehive pests, which include varroa mites, wax moths, and hive beetles. Don has a beautiful apiary set up and we are grateful to him for sharing his tips and tricks! At this field day we will go over winter prep tactics to maximize winter survival and be ready for honey production in the spring!
Join us as we dive into Don’s beehives for an informative and fun morning!
After our meeting we will be grilling out so feel free bring whatever you want to throw on the grill and a dish to share!
